What's New?
That everyone who thirsteth for the truth may obtain it, these publications are, as a Christian service, provided without charge. They levy but one exaction: the soul's obligation to itself to prove all things and hold fast to that which is good. The only strings attached to this free proffer are the golden strands of Eden and the crimson cords of Calvary - the ties that bind.

The Ark of the Covenant

The Two Laws in the Ark of the Covenant.

     I. In the Ten Commandment Law is the memorial of creation and the Sign or Seal of the Creator. By it is the knowledge of sin.

II. The Ceremonial Law was added because of transgression and is the memorial of our deliverance, a mark or sign of redemption and purification.

III. The efforts of man to think to change God's laws is the Mark of the Beast.

In the time of the end, every divine institution is to be restored. P.K. 678.

Before this earth was created the law of Ten Commandments was and still is the foundation of God's government, the transcript of His character, the very essence of His presence in righteousness. This law resides under "the mercy seat in the courts above." "For by the law is the knowledge of sin." Rom. 3:20.

The Ceremonial law was provided in the beginning,

in the event of sin. "That the obligations of the decalogue might be more fully understood and enforced." P.P. 310. This law rests "in the side of the ark" Deut. 31:26, in heaven. A copy of both sets of these laws were hidden with the ark in Palestine.

"With mourning and sadness they secreted the ark in a cave, where it was to be hidden from the people of Israel and Judah because of their sins...That sacred ark is yet hidden." P.K. 453. "At the judgment, this covenant will be brought forth." P.K. 187. "...the great work of judging the living is about to begin." 6T 130.

This ark no doubt will be brought forth for the Loud Cry. It is hardly reasonable or even rational to think of the ark being moved from Palestine to California. Anything, almost, can happen in these days of miracles, but moving the ark to this part of the world is leaving God out of the matter.

     I. The ten commandments.

          A. Knowledge of Sin.

"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." 1 John 3:4.

          B. Memorial of Creation

"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: But the seventh-day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, ... For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." Ex. 20:8-11.

The fourth commandment is the precept that tells the world who created this earth, and by observing the Sabbath we show our loyalty to our maker.

"The Sabbath is not introduced as a new institution but as having been founded at creation. It is to be remembered and observed as the memorial of the Creator's work. Pointing to God as the maker of the heavens and the earth, it distinguishes the true God from all false gods. All who keep the seventh-day signify by this act that they are worshipers of Jehovah. Thus the Sabbath is the sign of man's allegiance to God as long as there are any upon the earth to serve him. The fourth commandment is the only one of the ten in which are found both the name and the title of the Lawgiver." P.P. 307.

          C. The Seal of God.

"The seal of God's law is found in the fourth commandment. This only, of all the ten, brings to view both the name and the title of the Lawgiver. It declares Him to be the Creator of the Heavens and the earth, and thus shows His claim to reverence and worship above all others." G.C. 452.

The ten commandment law points out sin, and in the fourth or Sabbath commandment is found the memorial of creation. The name, title, and dominion, or seal of God is in the Sabbath commandment.

The opposite of God's seal is the mark of the beast (Rev. 13:16-18), or the act of paying homage to the power that thinks "to change times and laws." Instead of worshipping God on the Sabbath, the seventh-day, those who receive the mark of the beast worship on Sunday the first day in honor of a pagan sun god.

The enemy of God and man desired to erase the knowledge of the Creator from the minds of this earth's

inhabitants. To do this he incited the "Edict of Constantine." March 7, 321 A.D., when he instituted the first Sunday law. In 538 A.D. Justinian issued a decree making the pope supreme; and the Sunday law universal.

Let us not forget "... the worshipers of the beast will be distinguished by their efforts to tear down the Creator's memorial, to exalt the institution of Rome." G.C. 446.

     II. The Ceremonial Law.

          A. "The gospel of Christ sheds light upon the Jewish economy, and gives significance to the ceremonial law." P.P. 368.

We know the ceremonial law was instituted long before Sinai, since Abel offered the sacrificial lamb shortly after Adam's fall. The law was prepared in the beginning and waiting; hence the sacrificial phase of it went into effect as soon as sin entered.

This phase of the ceremonial law was nailed to the cross when the "lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." John 1:29, gave His life on Calvary. However, the ceremonial law was not abolished as we will see; but rather only the part that was against us was taken out of the way and changed to another system and phase. See Col. 2:14; Heb. 9:10. "For the priest-hood being changed, there is made of a necessity a change also of the law." Heb. 7:12.

          B. The High Priest

The ceremonial law still remains intact in the side of the ark in the holy of holies and there our High Priest offers His own blood; the blood of the Lamb of God, for us.

At the consecration of priests "Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water." Lev. 8:6.

          C. New Covenant Priesthood

When Messiah dedicated the apostles to the priesthood, He washed their feet. See John 13:4-10. Here Jesus was fulfilling the ceremonial law; but he didn't do away with it by nailing it to the cross; for He said "If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet." John 13:14.

Here we see type fulfilled in antitype, and the ceremonial law was not abolished but fulfilled. Today the entire church is to be consecrated as priests by fulfilling the rite of footwashing, the symbol of cleansing. The 144,000 first fruits are to be "a royal priesthood, an holy nation." 1 Pet. 2:9. "... for they are without fault before the throne of God." Rev. 14:5.

          D. Wave Sheaf

We find that Jesus fulfilled the ceremonial law when He was offered as the wavesheaf on the cross on earth on the second day of the Passover week. (P.P. 539). After His resurrection on Sunday morning, He continued to fulfill the ceremonial law when He offered the wave sheaf in the courts above. D.A. 785-786. ". . . on the morrow after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it." Lev. 23:11.

If the ceremonial law was abolished on the cross, how was it that Jesus offered the wave sheaf in heaven two days after the cross?

          E. Tithes and Offerings: Part of the Ceremonial Law.

Most denominations teach that their members

should pay tithe (Lev. 27:30; Num. 18:21; Mal. 3:8-10) "... ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin … these ought ye to have done." Matt. 23:23. Under Moses' law of ceremonial system the priests were to live of the things of the temple. Lev. 2:3; 10:13-15; 27:21). Paul says, "Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel." 1 Cor. 9:14. "That which has been set apart according to the Scriptures as belonging to the Lord, constitutes the revenue of the gospel, and is no longer ours ... Let none feel at liberty to retain their tithe, to use according to their own judgment." 9T 246-247. "The tithe ... is the Lord's. Here the same form of expression is employed as in the law of the Sabbath." P.P. 525.

This part of the ceremonial law was not nailed to the cross. Of a surety Jesus would not be so thoughtless as to permit the devil to nail His means of support of the gospel ministry to the cross.

          F. Unclean Meats—Ceremonial

Again we are taught not to eat the unclean and things offered to idols. "Of the swine God said, 'It is unclean unto you ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass.' This command was given because swine's flesh is unfit for food ... Never, under any circumstances was their flesh to be eaten by human beings." M.H. 313-314.

Many Christians teach that this part of the ceremonial law was nailed to the cross with Christ; and now swine is good for food. Seventh-day Adventists however, do not teach this. The Bible says, "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or drink, or in respect of an holy-day, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days." Col. 2:16. Those who drink alcohol, eat swine's flesh and disregard the Sabbath days will be judged, by the Lord's two laws.

          G. Memorial of Redemption

"When the Saviour yielded up His life on Calvary, the significance of the Passover ceased, and the ordinance of the Lord's Supper was instituted as a memorial of the same event of which the Passover had been a type." P.P. 539.

When the Antitypical Passover was nailed to the cross, slaying the typical Passover was no longer necessary. This part of the ceremonial law was changed when on the night after Abib 14, 31 A.D., after Jesus had eaten the typical Passover with His disciples, He instituted the Lord's Supper as a memorial of the same event.

MEMORIAL: "Anything, as a monument, intended to preserve the memory of a person or event." Webster.

The Sabbath was instituted in the beginning as a memorial of creation and can not be changed to another day of the week and be a true memorial since God rested from His work of creation only on the seventh day. The seventh day was hallowed as a weekly Sabbath. Therefore, it can not be observed occasionally or once a year and be a true memorial of God's rest after six days of creation work.

Consequently, the Passover being a yearly memorial on Abib 15 (Ex. 12:1-29) was not to be observed as a weekly Sabbath. Likewise, since Jesus instituted the Lord's Supper "as a memorial of the same event of which the Passover had been a type," it can be a memorial only as it is kept at Passover time.

Since Jesus gave us an example, and commanded His

disciples do as He has done, how can we do otherwise and still be in harmony with the teachings of Jesus? See Matt. 26:17-28; Mark 14:12-26; Luke 22:1-20; John 13:4-14.

Some Sunday keeping Christians systematically observe the Lord's Passover supper in their devotional services every Sunday morning at their 11:00 A.M. worship hour. Our High Priest offered the wave sheaf, not the Passover, on Sunday morning in heaven. (D.A. 785-786). Consequently, Sunday keeping Christians as honest as they may be, symbolically observe the wrong event. Therefore the death angel will not passover their first born. This is why there is so much disease and deaths in our world.

Besides all this the Lord's Supper suggest an evening event, not a luncheon affair. Since it was instituted by our Saviour as the antitypical Passover on the very day which is a yearly Sabbath, (Abib 15) it can not be observed as a weekly Sabbath. Neither can it be changed to another day and be a true memorial of the Messiah's death, (Isa. 53) and a symbol of deliverance from the bondage of sin and death of those who are to be translated when Jesus comes.

          H. Deliverance

"In commemoration of this great deliverance, a feast was to be observed yearly by the people of Israel in all future generations. 'This day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever.' ... The Passover was to be both commemorative and typical, not only pointing back to the deliverance from Egypt, but forward to the greater deliverance which Christ was to accomplish in freeing his people from the bondage of sin." P.P. 274, 277.

Those who are Israelites indeed regardless of what church they are affiliated with, or whether of no organization, who wish to be delivered from the bondage of sin and death, will by faith in Him take hold of His promises by following the Messiah's examples and commandments. Instead of being under the bondage of sin and death, why not observe His Sabbaths and eat and drink the emblems symbolical of deliverance from the bondage of antitypical Egypt (Sin and death), at the proper time?

"... Paul. The apostle regarded himself as 'debtor both to the Greeks, and to the barbarians,' as well as to the Jews; but he never lost sight of the decided advantages possessed by the Jews over others, 'chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.' 'The gospel, he declared, is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek' .... When this gospel shall be presented in its fullness to the Jews, many will accept Christ as the Messiah .... Among the Jews are some who, like Saul of Tarsus, are mighty in the Scriptures, and these will proclaim with wonderful power the immutalility of the law of God. The God of Israel will bring this to pass in our day. His arm is not shortened that it cannot save." A.A. 380-1.

"The slumbering faculties of the Jewish people are to be aroused. The Old Testament scriptures, blending with the New, will be to them as the dawning of a new creation, or as the resurrection of the soul. Memory will be awakened as Christ is seen portrayed in the pages of the Old Testament. Souls will be saved, from the Jewish nation, as the doors of the New Testament are

unlocked with the key of the Old Testament.

"A nation shall be born in a day ... The predictions of prophecy will be fulfilled." Evangelism 578-9.

It is the purpose of this study to present the gospel in its fullness, by showing the gospel in its true relationship to the ceremonial law. This message shows Christ's integrity in fulfilling His promise to His Father by fulfilling the ceremonial law; but not doing away with it.

     This is the message of the angel that joins the third angel's message in a message to be given to the world in a loud cry. See: Rev. 14:17, 18; 18:1, 2-4; E.W. 277; G.C. 604, 390; 6T 406; T.M. 59, 300.

          I. The Purification

"Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off." Nahum 1:15.

Paul declared to the early Christians and the church today, "Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven." 1 Cor. 5:7, 8.

Here the Apostle admonishes all to keep the feasts and purge the church of the leaven of sin. If the feast laws of the ceremonial system were nailed to the cross Paul would not have told us to keep the feasts.

In fact the Passover is a sign of purification of the church, since the first born in Egypt who did not have the blood of the passover lamb on the door post, were slain. The apostolic church was purified of the one sinner when Judas Iscariot got up and walked out after Jesus instituted the Lord's Supper on the Passover night following Abib 14.

Paul kept the Passover at Philippi, and desired to be in Jerusalem for the Pentecost. We should keep the Pentecost in honor of Christ's "enthronement in His mediatorial kingdom." COL 120.

Time for the latter rein of power is very near and will come when the 144,000 receive the three seals. Read Rev. 3:12; EW 15; LS 65. These three sealing messages are brought by the three prophetic messages of Rev. 14 which come after 1844 (1) The Third Angel's message of Rev. 14:9-12. (2) The Fourth Angel's message of Rev. 14:15. (3) The Fifth Angel's message of Rev. 14:17.

Some of the Protestants are now receiving some sort of manifestations of power. The recent Seattle debacle was typical of the false. When the 144,000, the two antitypical wave loaves, receive the out pouring of the Holy Spirit, it will be on the antitypical day of Pentecost. This is the day they will receive their crowns as kings and priests "an holy nation" 1 Pet. 2:9 in harmony with the ceremonial law. By this truth we know that these other manifestations are not of God. "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Isa. 8:20.

In destroying the knowledge of the ceremonial law in the dark ages, the enemy of the Messiah, hoped to destroy the knowledge of the Redeemer from the mind of earth's inhabitants; consequently causing man to worship false Gods.

Just four years after the attempt by the enemy to change the Sabbath, "The council of Nicaea (325 A.D.)"

changed the Passover to the first Sunday after the first full moon after March 21; in honor of "the pagan Anglo-Saxon celebration of the goddess of light or spring, Eostra, from whose name the English word Easter is derived." National Encyclopedia, page 8, article Easter.

III. The Mark of the Beast

          A. "And he shall speak great words against the most High, ... and think to change times (plural) and laws (more than one law)" Dan. 7:25. He thought to change the weekly seventh-day Sabbath to Sunday the first day of the week and the yearly Sabbath of the Lord's Passover Supper to a weekly luncheon affair each Sunday morning and a yearly Sunday holiday in honor of a pagan goddess of light or spring, called Easter. The six other yearly Sabbath days that point to our Redeemer are changed to various holidays and lost sight of entirely by the Christian world.

          B. "… and I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon ... and he had power to give life unto the image of the beast; ... And he causeth all, … to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their forehead: ... and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name ... and his number is Six hundred threescore and six." Rev. 13:11, 15-18.

The beast with lamb-like horns spake as a dragon; and gives life to the image of the beast in Rev. 17. He causes all to receive a mark or name of the beast or the number of his name; and his number is 666.

The wound that was inflicted on the leopard-like beast by the sword of Truth: "The just shall live by Faith" in 1530 to 1798 was healed in Vatican City in 1929 and in the United States in 1960. This occurred when the Protestant churches, infiltrated by Jesuit priests, voted for a spiritual son of the little horned power of Dan. 7:25, thereby healing the wound (Rev. 13:3) in the land of the two-horned beast. By this act the number 666 is transferred to the beast having two horns.

The image of the beast (Rev. 17) is fast forming and soon the scarlet colored beast will be disclosed to view. All nations that do not follow the Lord, will be a part of this beast, which is red, with the woman riding him arrayed in purple and scarlet-red.

The weight of evidence in the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy by Ellen G. White overwhelmingly declares that the beast power of Dan 7:25, thought to change both laws with time in them. The Seventh-day Sabbath to Sunday, the first day of the week, and the Passover of Abib 15 to Easter Sunday in honor of the sun goddess Eostra.

The Third Angel's message of Rev. 14:6-12 is the Sabbath and Sanctuary Truth. It gives light on the ten commandment law and the judgment. Since the judgment of the dead began in 1844, it is the message of the Judgment of the Dead. (Read G.C. 490). This message gathers the first fruits, 144,000 ... of Rev. 14:1-4, see Lev. 23:16, 17.

Jesus kept the ceremonial law when He began the atonement work in 1844. The ceremonial law was added because of transgressions, "That the obligations of the decalogue might be more fully understood and enforced."

P.P. 310. See Gal. 3:19. In this we see the Messiah "portrayed in the pages of the Old Testament," and "the doors of the New Testament are unlocked with the key of the Old Testament." Evangelism, 579. Now we can better understand the message of the Judgment of the Living brought by the fifth angel of Rev. 14: 17, which is to gather the second fruits of grapes. See Rev. 14:18; 7:9; Lev. 23:34; Zech. 14:16-19; P.P. 540, 541, Isa. 60:1-22; 62:2-12.

This message will go in a loud cry as soon as Babylon the great falls. See Rev. 14:8 last part and Rev. 18:2 first part. For explanation of these Scriptures please read the Great Controversy, 389 and 390. "This message seemed to be an addition to the third message, joining it as the midnight cry joined the second angel's message in 1844." E.W. 277. The message of the ceremonial law is added to the message that has restored the ten commandment law since 1844.

God's counsel to us is that His true people get back to the Word of God and refrain to recognize the beast power and tradition by standing on the Bible and the Bible only. All who fail to honor God the Creator and Christ the Redeemer will receive the mark of the beast rather than the seal of God "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." James 2:10.

The message presented here is not a call to come out of Babylon, but rather admonition for all to come up to the help of the Lord and to go out to meet the Bridegroom (Matt. 25:6).

In this trying hour of the atonement for the living (1 Pet. 4:17, 5T 83; 8T 247; G.C. 483), let all earnestly seek our High Priest, with supplication for our sins, pleading for our brethren at the head of the work, since soon none can buy or sell save those who receive the mark of the beast. When this decree goes forth our Brethren in General Conference will be in a very precarious situation in the same district with the beast speaking as a dragon. Therefore, let the whole church earnestly seek the Lord in their behalf, pleading for Him to give them wisdom to see the lion coming and act with discretion before it is too late. Read Isaiah 21st chapter.

"Purge me with hyssop, and I

shall be clean: wash me, and I

shall be whiter than snow."

Psalm 51:7.

May all God's people be faithful in this trying testing time,
